The Consultation

Independent Plastic Surgery Advice – $190 in Sydney Office

There is a best plastic surgeon in Sydney right for you…

Think of plastic surgery as pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. First there is you, a unique and individual piece of the puzzle – and next there are hundreds of plastic surgeons scattered about everywhere…

…but there is one (maybe even a few plastic surgeons) whose “piece” fits and interlocks perfectly with you so as to produce your perfect picture.

What we have done is accessed, graded, rated and categorised these plastic surgeons. We know how these surgeons fit into the jigsaw puzzle. The only piece missing is you…

Hence the consultation is to learn about you, your individual “shape,” about determining which plastic surgeon is best able to produce the greatest results with you. It’s also a time for you to ask all those questions you have about the whole plastic surgery process.

Once you become a client of Clarify Clinic, you become a client for life. We don’t charge for future consultations and advice.

It all starts with us taking time to listen to you, then explaining and advising what is realistic on the procedure you seek, which leads you to an informed and considered decision.

If you believe you wish to proceed with surgery, then our knowledge and research (As we refer to it:  identify, simply, clarify) is then made based upon matching your body’s unique make-up with the plastic surgeon ideally suited to enhance your body in the most natural way. We have all seen plastic surgery results which look unnatural. The key is to strive for a natural look, not to appear plastic. Matching the right surgeon with your body is the key.

As part of our package we also get you preferential treatment, priority appointments with the top surgeons.

Quick facts

  • Plastic surgery is real surgery, and it is essential to fully understand what the surgery involves and the expected recovery time following the surgery. Although most plastic surgery has a high patient satisfaction, it is important to understand that all procedures have both benefits and potential risks
  • At your initial consultation at our clinic, which will take approx 60 minutes, the surgical procedure will be explained and you will be shown photographs of patients who have had similar surgery. You will also be given information sheets on the surgery that you are considering. It is important that you carefully read the information sheets and write down any questions that you may want to discuss with our surgeons.
  • Following the plastic surgery consultation (with the select surgeon/s) another consultation is normally made 10-14 days later, either face-to-face or over the phone, to discuss further questions you may have. If you are unsure then we encourage you to come back to us, at no extra cost, and we are happy to discuss this further and make other suggestions to improve your surgery results. We’re here for you every step of the way.

What to bring to your consultation

  • Bring a list of all questions you have
  • Bring a list of your current medications for reference
  • Bring photos to show typical outcomes on the results you desire

What to expect during your consultation

The success and safety of your procedure depends on your complete candidness during your consultation. You’ll be asked a number of questions about your health, desires and lifestyle.

Be prepared to discuss:

  • Why you want the surgery, your expectations and desired outcome
  • Medical conditions, drug allergies and medical treatments
  • Use of current medications, vitamins, herbal supplements, alcohol, tobacco and drugs
  • Previous surgeries
  • The options available for your selected procedure
  • The likely outcomes from your procedure and any risks or potential complications
  • The course of treatment recommended by plastic surgeons

Your selected surgeon/s may also:

  • Evaluate your general health status and any pre-existing health conditions or risk factors
  • Examine and take detailed measurements of you
  • Take photographs for your medical record
  • Discuss your options and recommend a specific course of treatment
  • Discuss specific outcomes and any specific risks or potential complications to you

The following questions are answered regarding your best suited plastic surgeon:

  • What experience, and accomplishments, does the surgeon have in performing this procedure?
  • What makes them the best suited surgeon for my body? How high are the individual success rates they have performing the procedure?
  • What’s really involved with the procedure?
  • What are the possible risks? There are risks with any surgical procedure. Discover what they really are, how and how often they occur, and how they will be handled if they do occur
  • What is the realistic expected recovery for the procedure? Important points discussed are postoperative restrictions on activity and typical time periods for resuming work and social activities
  • What is the doctor’s policy on surgical revisions? Most people forget this. Some cases could require surgical revisions to achieve the desired end result
  • How much will the surgery cost? Cosmetic surgery, other than certain reconstructive surgery, is not covered by insurance, and payment is usually required in advance. Costs include the surgeon’s fee, fees for the surgical facility and for the anaesthetist. Other possible costs can be preoperative physical and blood work, medications, surgical garments, and private-duty nursing. While it is tempting to “bargain shop,” or compromise, the training and experience of your surgeon are vital factors in the success of your surgery.
